Biography, professional profile:

In 2001-2006 he was a student of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology. In 2006 he received a M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Warsaw University of Technology. His M.Sc. Thesis “Direct power control for three-level DC/AC converter working with a wind turbine” received I prize of Association of Polish Electrical Engineers SEP/PKJiEUEE for the Best M.Sc.
Since 2006 he was a PhD student at the Institute of Control and Industrial Electronics, Warsaw University of Technology. During PhD studies he was Scholar of the Centre for Advanced Studies for PhD students and young doctors (2008-2010) under the project “Development Programme of Warsaw University of Technology” and Scholar of III contest of Foundation for Polish Science Ventures Programme (2009-2011) under the project “Novel control strategies for Flying Capacitor Converter for renewable energy, drives and traction”. In 2010 he received Team Award (I degree) of the Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology for scientific achievements. In 2012 he received Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering with Distinction Award of the Council of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering for the Ph.D. dissertation “Analysis and Control of Multilevel AC-DC-AC Flying Capacitor Converter Fed from Single-Phase Grid”. His PhD Thesis received also I prize of TRUMPF Huettinger Company and Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, for best PhD Thesis.
Since 2013 he is with Institute of Control and Industrial Electronics, Warsaw University of Technology. In 2014 he received prestigious Scholarship (2014-2017) of Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education for outstanding young scientists. In recognition of outstanding achievements in development and implementation in TWERD Company of modulation and control methods for two and multilevel power converters dedicated for the renewable power sources and mining industry he was a laureate of Scientific Team Award of the Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology - the highest scientific award awarded annually by the Warsaw University of Technology. The main directions of his research interests include: modulation techniques and control methods of single and multiphase multilevel converters, resistance of power electronics systems on different grid disturbances and power electronics interfaces between renewable energy sources and grid. Currently he is the deputy manager of the prestigious project of Foundation for Polish Science under the TEAM TECH Program, “Highly efficient and fault tolerant SiC-based smart transformer in distributed energy systems” which is a grant project financed from the funds of the European Regional Development Fund under Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020.
His scientific achievements include the participation of more than 20 research, development and industrial projects, including 5 as a project leader. He has authored and co-authored more than 40 articles in journals and conference materials and co-authored two monographs: “Power Electronics for Renewable Energy Systems, Transportation and Industrial Applications" (Wiley, 2014) and “Advanced and Intelligent Control in Power Electronics And Drives” (Springer, 2014). Since 2009 he is a reviewer of a papers for journals indexed by Thomson Reuters JCR, such as IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, as well as reviewer of a papers of the world's leading power electronics conferences. He is active member of IEEE within the Poland IEEE Industrial Electronics & Power Electronics Joint Chapter PEL-035/IEL-013, where in 2009-2014 he served as Secretary, and since 2015 he is a Chairman. Since 01.01.2015 he is also a Board member (Secretary) of Poland Section IEEE. For his activities in IEEE he received in 2016 from the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society “Best Chapter Award for recognition of demonstrated performance of Chapter activity”.
