Cel przedmiotu: 
Presentation of basic knowledge on the range of application and construction of vehicles and systems of electrified transport. Obtaining skills for justification and choice of proper electric vehicle (drive system, power, energy consumption) for realization of transport demands taking into account sustainable development of societies.Preparation for analysis of current literature and standards. Presentation of current research areas led by Electr. Eng. Faculty in area of electric traction systems. Presentation of selected methods and solutions applied in electric traction engineering.
Treści kształcenia: 
Ground transportation systems in Poland and world. Ecological aspects of electrified transport. Transport policy of EU. Interoperability of railways in Europe. Technical Specifications of Interoperability. Characteristics and movement of traction vehicles. Modes of operation of vehicles. Resistances to motion. Traction characteristic. Traction force during starting and braking modes.Limits on traction and braking force. Energy consumption and energy savings. Recuperation of energy. Traction motors and drives. Energy conversion on the board of traction vehicles. Speed regulation of traction vehicles. Parameters of modern traction vehicles for urban and long-distance traffic. High-speed rolling stock. Railway traffic control and signalling. Compatibility of vehicles, power supply and control systems. Perspectives for development of new electrified means of transport (non-conventional vehicles, autonomous, hybrid vehicles, electric cars, maglev, people movers, industry transport etc.).

LABORATORY:
1. Short-circuits in DC traction network.
2. Measurements in a physical model of the supplying circuit of a traction vehicle with a chopper and a series motor.
3. Measurements of loads and short-circuits using model railway electric traction power supply system.
4. Energy storages in electric traction.
5. Step-up DC-DC converter (step-up chopper).
6. Traction substation - the source of the higher harmonics in the public power supply system.
